GO Lab Wins Season Finale!

Tuesday's Finale was such a great end to our Big Gig season! Over 100 people packed the Foster Center for Student Innovation at UMaine to watch our four regular season winners pitch their businesses for the $1,500 grand prize! Joshua Henry started the evening pitching his company, GO Lab Inc., an R&D company that has created an eco-friendly, wood fiber, insulation board. Dylan Veilleux then pitched his product, The Tea Pillow, which is a head pillow that uses tea leaves to relieve and calm the mind. After that, Maddie Purcell pitched her business, Fyood Kitchen, an Iron Chef-meets-Paint Nite cooking event for adventurous foodies. The fourth and final pitcher of the evening was Derek Porte

GO Lab Wins Latest Pitch-Off!

Our last regular season pitch-off was last Tuesday at Husson's Dyke Center for Family Business, and it was one of the best Big Gig events I've ever attended! Joshua Henry pitched his company GO Lab Inc., an R&D company that has created an eco-friendly, wood fiber, insulation board. Marie Emerson then pitched her idea for a nonprofit that would create a virtual museum to educate consumers about the importance of wild blueberry harvesting. The third and final pitcher of the evening was Mike Turcotte, an adjunct professor, who pitched Eco-Eraser, an eco-friendly, more convenient, whiteboard eraser.
