And the Winner of the Big Gig Finale was....

After a completely virtual 2020/2021 Big Gig season, we hosted our virtual Big Gig Season Finale on Tuesday with four fantastic entrepreneurs!

The first entrepreneur of the night was Cherie Scott of Mumbai to Maine, Maine's first Indian-inspired, culinary brand that is ready to launch its home-style, regional, Indian-simmer sauces. Second to go was Stephanie Noyes of 360 Sleeves, which has created battery-powered sleeves that warm the hands and forearms using proprietary technology. Third up and our "Wild Card" entry was Hannah Marr of Clique in Style, an online application that assists brides in the arrangement & visualization of their complete bridal party design. Our fourth and final pitcher was Joshua Kim of The Cubby, an online community art marketplace where college student creators can exclusively showcase and sell their work to the public.

As always, we had three seasoned business professionals judging the event and giving constructive feedback to the entrepreneurs. Our panel of judges included Josh Henry, President and Founder of GO Lab; Dr. Joan Ferrini-Mundy, President of University of Maine and the University of Maine at Machias; and Gavin Robinson, Vice President and Senior Relationship Manager at Bangor Savings Bank. While the judges deliberated, we hosted Brain Rahill as the "Big Rig" guest speaker. Brian is the Co-Founder of CourseStorm, an Orono-based class registration software startup that was recently named one of ten "Best Tech Startups in Maine" by The Tech Tribune. He shared the company's entrepreneurial journey and how they got to where they are today through all of the highs and lows they faced.

After the audience and judges voted for their favorite entrepreneurs, Joshua Kim of The Cubby was named the 2020/2021 Seasonal Finale winner and received $5000! Thank you to Bangor Savings Bank for the $5000 in prize funding, our "bootstrap" sponsors (Maine Technology Institute and Eaton Peabody), our "crowfunding" sponsors, our fantastic judges, and everyone that tuned in to watch! See you again this fall!
