Lorraine's Cakes Crowned Winner!

What a packed house we had for the pitch-off on Tuesday at Governor's Restaurant in Old Town! Over 70 people squeezed in to hear our 3 young entrepreneurs and our seasoned "Big Rig!" First up, Tyler Cote pitched his business, Lorraine's Cakes, a gluten-free AND vegan cake producer. John Laperle then pitched Johnny's Hardwood Cutting Boards & Care, a maker of handcrafted & high quality cutting boards, oil, & cleaner!. The third and final pitcher of the evening was Kalli Kirkpatrick who pitched Calliope Equestrian, an eco-friendly, US-based line of active wear for equestrians. After some constructive feedback from our Big Wig judges, Chuck Carter, Monique Bouchard, and Bruce Segee, the audience and the judges voted for their favorite, and Tyler Cote was crowned the winner! We were also fortunate enough to have Bernie LaBree, President of LaBree's Bakery, who told us the story of how his father founded LaBree's in the 1940's, how it has stayed in business so long, and how it has grown into a company with clients all over the world. Thanks to all who attended, and we look forward to seeing you at our next pitch-off in February!
