Maddie Purcell of "Fyood Kitchen" Wins Nov. Big Gig!

70 people gathered on Tuesday to listen to two business pitches at University Credit Union in downtown Orono. Maddie Purcell pitched her start-up company, Fyood Kitchen, an Iron Chef-meets-Paint Nite food competition that allows teams to test their kitchen skills in front of judges. Michael Lessard, Co-Founder and Chief Academic Officer of Wings Reality EDU, then followed with his pitch about the company's virtual ground school for pilots, featuring their latest class on drone training. After some constructive feedback from our Big Wig judges, Matt James, Sophie Wilson, & Keith Manaker, the audience voted for their favorite, and Maddie Purcell was named the winner! We were also lucky enough to have Dan Kerluke, Co-Founder & CEO of Double Blue Sports Analytics, talk about his "Bible" for successful pitching in any situation.
